"Only 11% of all astronauts in the world are women. That's why Cosmic Girls Foundation is organizing a worldwide competition for 14-year-old girls up to the age of 19 to work in space. Participants of the "6 Girls 6 Continents" competition will have the opportunity to compete in special space education programs. In the end, the six finalists (one from each continent) are allowed to participate in astronaut training, including parabolic flight, inner space training and centrifuge training. And the winner may make a suborbital spaceflight.
"We want to build self-confidence in economically vulnerable young women around the world, and inspire them to pursue great ambitions, such as becoming astronauts", says Dr. Mindy Howard, founder and CEO of Cosmic Girls. "We provide them with skills, training and international connections, to give them the opportunity to make their dreams come true."🚀
Wow! 💫 Dr. Mindy Howard, you continue to inspire us all with your dedication to empowering young women around the globe! 🌍 As a Cosmic Girl, I’m incredibly proud to be part of a mission that not only breaks barriers in space exploration but also uplifts the next generation of female astronauts. 🚀
The ‘6 Girls 6 Continents’ competition is such a game-changer—giving young women the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to aim for the stars. Thank you for leading the way and reminding us all that the sky isn’t the limit, it’s just the beginning. 💖🌌
