COSMIC GIRLS is starting a new podcast, with our very own SHEO Cosmic Girl, Dr. Mindy Howard, and our fab CMO, Sofia Giussani, and we need your questions, insights, inspirations COSMIC GIRLS!
DREAM, DARE, DO!
This week’s theme: DREAM!!!
What questions do you have about DREAMING/DREAMS and space?
Personal motivations? Scientific curiosity? What type of support for your dreams? When did you first dream of space and where are you on your path now? Who is your inspiration and why?
LET’S TALK ABOUT IT!
Please put your questions in the comments below.
Let’s DREAM together and reach our goals!
Here’s my question! Who is your favourite ‘space dreamer’? Someone who’s dreamed up a scientific innovation, compelling sci-if story or steps to achieve peace in tense times?
(Apologies if this posted twice - I’m not sure if it sent the first time I tried!!)
I have always dreamed of going to space! My mother taught me about the constellations and planets. Documentaries and scientists inspired me to be curious and explore. Which only encouraged me to dream big. My friends and teachers nearly always supported me to chase my dreams. I can barely imagine how difficult it has to be if you don’t have this support.
But even with all this support I didn’t know how I could prepare for the space industry and I thought it would be nearly impossible to become an astronaut. Then I discovered Cosmic Girls!!
Now I know that becoming an astronaut is still a hard path but I believe it would be more doable, Cosmic Girls Foundation greatly contributed to this!!
And also since companies like SpaceX are greatly expanding the space industry by planning to go to the moon and even Mars.
These are my questions: How can young girls prepare for a job in the space industry? And do you think space hotels or a research base on the moon or mars will become reality? And if so when?
These are frequently asked questions but I would love to hear your insights!
Dreaming about space has always felt magical to me, and it keeps evolving with each step on my journey. Growing up in a small town in India, I spent countless nights looking up at the stars, imagining what lies beyond. It felt magical, like the universe was calling out to me. I am the only person from my town of over 500,000 people who has this unique dream, which often makes me feel alone. I don’t find people like me around, and no one, not even my family, encourages or supports my dream.
But as I grew older, I realized the challenges of turning this dream into reality—limited opportunities, lack of resources, and the constant question: ‘Is this possible for someone like me?
My question is: How do you stay motivated when the path to achieving your dreams seems long and uncertain? Also, what advice would you give to young girls dreaming of making a mark in the space industry, especially from regions with limited resources or opportunities? how do you push forward without a support system, especially when even those closest to you don’t believe in your vision?
Can't wait to hear your insights!
Thanks Heather! Yes, we need to hear your questions about dreaming big! Thursday we will record this session so if you can send your questions before Thursday, that would be great!
