Hello Cosmic Girls! I am excited about April 12 - Are you too? “Wait, what is special about April 12th?” you ask? April 12 is celebrated as the International Day of Human Space Flight, commemorating Yuri Gagarin's historic first human space flight in 1961. Shortly after, the first woman in space was Soviet cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova, who flew aboard the Vostok 6 spacecraft on June 16, 1963. From March to April 12 (International Space Day of Human Flight) and June 16 (First Woman in Space), Cosmic Girls Foundation is raising funds to empower young women (like yourselves!) in their astronaut dreams.
